Join this educational event featuring Dr. David Adler as he discusses Ruth Bader Ginsberg and women’s rights in Idaho.

Since the dawn of the republic, American women have been forced to fight for the rights that most men have enjoyed at birth. From Abigail Adams and Susan B. Anthony to Myra Bradwell and Pauli Murray to Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the crusade for women’s rights and gender equality has been carried, principally, by women with the aid of a few good men.  The iconic RBG championed an Idaho lawsuit, Reed v. Reed (1971), that transformed the law for women. Reed, said RBG, was a “turning point” in the drive for gender equality. Registration of $20/person includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar. Guests Welcome!

Dr. David Adler is a constitutional law professor and currently the President of The Alturas Institute, a non-profit organization created to promote the Constitution, gender equality, and civic education. He is an engaging speaker who will mesmerize us on March 8, 2023, with the story of Reed v. Reed, a case that reflected the historic efforts of Sally Reed and RBG, and the Idaho men– two lawyers and judge–to make the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment a reality for women as well as men. Adler will place Reed v. Reed in the context of this historic crusade, and comment on enduring issues of importance to women plus put it in a Women’s History Month presentation.
